Self-Efficacy, Grit and Perceptions of Rural Employment: What Changes Occur After Graduation?

Purpose: General self-efficacy, occupational and grit have a correlation with academic practical success amongst nursing students. The role of these same characteristics during the first 18-24 months following transition from student to nurse is poorly understood. In addition, when graduate begins consider career in rural area also remains unclear. This study sought understand change, if any, general grit, employment importance that occurred this period. Sample: Nurses after graduating three-year Bachelor Nursing degree (n=28). Method: A follow-up larger longitudinal mixed-methods cohort design used survey examine among novice nurses. Participants had agreed completing initial as students participate 18-24-months graduating. Findings: Occupational self-efficacy increased transitioned professional nurse, while was remarkably lower between final year No change earlier measures or placed on careers were detected.
